These helpful tips should allow you to get the most out of your
Speed Dating experience and show you just how easy it is.
- Understand that this is an opportunity to meet many people
of the opposite sex in a safe, fun and friendly environment and
that these events are attended by shy as well as very outgoing
individuals.
- Event times are usually 30 minutes prior to when the actual
seating for the event takes place. This allows for people to mingle,
enjoy appetizers and allow for those that might be fighting traffic.
Once the event starts, it normally lasts about 1-1 1/2 hours depending
on the number of people involved.
- When you arrive at the event, just be yourself and relax. Everyone
is there to meet everyone and you are going to have a chance to
meet all the participants of the opposite sex. The hard part has
been handled...you are going to have those 5 minutes in a one-on-one
conversation with eligible singles who are out to find a date
or significant other.
- Remember that there is no dress code, however, this is the first
impression you will be making, so consider 'dressing to impress'.
- Upon arrival, simply check in with the Speed Dating Event Coordinator
who will be there to manage the event. You will receive a name
badge and table assignment at that time.
- Be prepared to ask important questions at the event to help
you determine if you are meeting someone of special interest to
you. Here are a few questions you might consider asking:
Where do you live?
Do you have any children?
Do you smoke?
Do you have any pets?
- Please do not ask for a person's contact information. This
includes phone number or email. Do not discuss or ask sexually
explicit questions. Remember to be respectful and avoid all lewd
or impolite activity of any sort
